Quick answer

To build a website, go to Home, describe your site, click Website under the prompt box, and click Start building. The agent writes a Next.js site, and FlutterGo gives it a public preview link on previews.fluttergo.ai on every plan. Download code and GitHub need Starter or higher. Publishing to your own Vercel account needs Pro, which also adds a mobile app to the project.

FlutterGo.AI builds websites too. When you choose Website on Home, the project's product is a website: a real Next.js site with its own pages, text, photos, colors and fonts. The agent writes it from your description, and FlutterGo gives it a public preview link on previews.fluttergo.ai, on every plan.

From the Starter plan you can also download the project's code and push it to GitHub. From Pro you can publish it to your own Vercel account, and add a mobile app to the same project.

What you need#

  • A FlutterGo.AI account. Any plan can build a website. A Website project counts as a project, and the Free plan allows 2.
  • A sentence or two about your site: what it is for, and the pages it needs.
  • To download the code or use GitHub: a plan from Starter up.
  • To publish to your own Vercel account: a plan from Pro up, and you must be the project's owner.

How to do it#

1. Choose Website on Home#

On Home, type your idea into the prompt box. Under the text, click Website instead of Mobile app. The box now reads: "Describe the website you want: the pages, the content, how it should look. We build it."

Example: "Sunrise Café: a website for a neighborhood café, with a home page, the menu with prices, opening hours and a page with our address."

Tip: The Website tile under the prompt box does something else: it starts a prompt to rebuild an existing website as a Flutter app.

2. Click Start building#

Click Start building. FlutterGo asks Where should data live? Pick Supabase if the site needs to save things, such as messages from a contact form, or Skip for now. Then click Open workspace.

3. Watch the agent build your site#

The project opens on its Website tab. The agent gives the site its own colors and fonts, based on your description. Then it writes the home page and the other pages you asked for, with real text and photos. Website projects skip the app setup questions.

When the agent is done, FlutterGo builds the preview: "Building the preview and publishing it to a public link (about 1–2 minutes)…". Then your site appears in a browser window.

The bar under the preview has:

  • Desktop, Tablet, Phone and iPhone Duo: see the site at that size.
  • Reload, Open in a new tab and View code (icons).
  • Download code (the download icon) and GitHub (the GitHub icon), see step 6.
  • Help, to contact support.

In the top bar, click Share. The panel says Preview link: "A public preview hosted by FlutterGo. It updates after every change. Publish to put it on your own Vercel." Click Copy link, or Open in a new tab.

Important: Anyone with the link can open the site. Send it only to people you trust until the site is ready.

5. Ask for more pages and changes#

Type one change at a time in the chat, for example:

  • "Add a page with our catering prices."
  • "Keep the header at the top while I scroll."
  • "Use warmer colors and a rounder font."

In Build mode the agent changes the site. In Plan mode it answers and plans, and changes files only if you clearly ask it to. The preview and its link update after each change. Every chat message costs 1 credit, as in any project.

6. Download the code or push it to GitHub (Starter and up)#

In the bar under the preview:

  • Download code (the download icon) downloads the whole project's source code as a ZIP file, like Download code in an app project. While it works, it says Preparing zip….
  • GitHub (the GitHub icon) opens the GitHub panel, with Preview GitHub, Fetch and Push. It works the same as in an app project: see Save your code to GitHub.

You can also ask in the chat, for example "download the code" or "push to GitHub".

On the Free plan, both buttons show a small sparkle badge. Click one to open the plans with Starter picked. If someone else owns the project, the buttons say "Ask the project owner to upgrade".

7. Publish it to your own Vercel (Pro and up)#

The preview link is for showing your work. For the real site, on its own address, publish it to Vercel:

  1. In the top bar, click Connect Vercel, then Connect Vercel in the panel that opens, and approve FlutterGo in Vercel's window. You do this once.
  2. Click Publish in the top bar, then Deploy to Vercel.
  3. Wait while the card says "Vercel is building it (1–3 minutes)…". When it shows Live and your site's address, click the address to open your live site.

Only the project's owner can publish, and the site goes to the owner's Vercel account. Changed something later? Click Publish, then Redeploy. On the Free and Starter plans, Connect Vercel opens Plans & billing with Pro selected instead. Every step, and adding your own domain, is in Web deployment.

The mobile app in a Website project#

On Free and Starter, a project builds one thing. In a Website project that thing is the website, so its mobile app is locked. The Mobile preview tab shows Turn your website into an app: "This project is a website, and on your plan a project builds one thing. With Pro, FlutterGo builds the mobile app here too, in your website's look." The button Upgrade to Pro and build it opens the plans.

That means, below Pro, a Website project has no app preview, Build APK or store Deploy. If you ask the agent for an app, it tells you the app is locked and points you to Pro, or to a new project.

On Pro and up, the Mobile preview tab works as in any app project. Ask the agent to build the app, and it follows your website's look.

Starting an app instead#

To build a mobile app on Free or Starter, start a new project: on Home, describe the app, keep Mobile app selected and click Start building. On the Free plan, delete a project first if you already have 2. See Creating a project.

Troubleshooting#

Problem: The Website tab says "The preview build failed". Possible causes: The site's code has an error. Solution:

  1. Ask the agent to fix the error shown under the message.
  2. Click Rebuild.

Problem: The Website tab says "No preview yet". Possible causes: The site was built, but no preview was made since. Solution:

  1. Click Show preview. It takes about a minute.

Problem: The Website tab says "Your website isn't built yet". Possible causes: The agent hasn't written the site yet. Solution:

  1. Click Build the website, or describe the site in the chat.

Problem: Share in the top bar is greyed out. Possible causes: The preview is not built yet. Solution:

  1. Wait for the preview to finish building, or click Show preview.

Problem: Download code or GitHub shows a sparkle badge. Possible causes: The project is on the Free plan. Solution:

  1. Upgrade to Starter or higher. If someone else owns the project, ask them to upgrade.

Problem: Mobile preview shows "Turn your website into an app". Possible causes: The project's mobile app is locked below Pro. Solution:

  1. Upgrade to Pro, or start a new project with Mobile app selected.

FAQ#

What is the website built with? Next.js. The site lives in the project's apps/website folder. It is a fast, static site, with no server code of its own.

Is the preview link public? Yes. Anyone with the link can open the site. It lives on previews.fluttergo.ai and updates after every change.

Can my site have its own domain? Yes, once you publish it to your own Vercel account (Pro and up). Add the domain in Vercel. See Web deployment.

Can I add a mobile app later? Yes, with Pro: the Mobile preview tab then builds the app in the same project. On Free and Starter, start a new project with Mobile app selected.

Can an app project have a website too? Yes, on Pro and up. In an app project, the Website tab builds a website for your app.

Does building a website cost credits? Yes, like any project: every chat message costs 1 credit.

Do I need to know how to code? No. Describe what you want, and the agent writes the pages.
